Addition:

One problem is how to fit in countries that don't have a specific pirate party, but whose government is definitely against copyright (and patents). Im thinking about Brazil, who wouldn't have any copyright laws if it weren't for the americans' threats of heavy sanctions, and whos copyright laws are mostly for show. Other countries to the east also come into mind..

I think we will limit ourselves to countries that have a Pirate Party, the map I have been planning will show pp-international members and hence...

However the idea of imprisoned Pirate Party people seem to be quite interesting but doubt anytime soon it will be the case.

Heyo buds...

The map is a cool idea, but I have been thinking about to do something more than just a static map. I've done a simple flash application to show what I mean,

Mouse over sweden to see an info box. At least I think it would be awesome to get a map like this (with info about all pp countries of course). But this is just an idea and I want your response before I add more countries and continents.

Yes we have discussed this as an option as well... How big is this application in size? There is also an issue with the fact that it is a plugin and license.

I think one can create this things by ones own code which would give no trouble with licenses or plugins installed by the user.

There are maps on Wikipedia that are public domain, like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:BlankMap-World5.svg and there's one colored with pirate party countries but it is under creative commons. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:PiratePartiesMap.svg

It is easy to decide (except if a foundation process died before being finished) for each country.

bttw @Florian: wow, you seem to be more agile than we are in Germany, congratulations to your (soon existing) PP

"tape & bones - PP in the parliament"
first off what the hell is "tape and bones"?
secondly, not ever country as a parliamnet.

what do you all think of that?
