ACTA Taskforce International (DRAFT actionplan)

Posted On: Sat, 2009-11-28 08:17 by cwicket

Hi PP-leaders,

We in PPI have been made aware of the PP's initiatives to fight ACTA
such as the Swedish, Australian, Austrian and German press releases.
There are also initiatives for national taskforce in Germany etc. so
we in PPI see this as a international issue due to the scope of ACTA
where me and Laurent Le Besnerais
(laurent.lebesnerais@pp-international.net) are leaders of a taskforce
against ACTA. We started working on a DRAFT for a action plan against
ACTA and we want your feedback before proceeding (publish etc.) so
please have a look at the DRAFT or send to your national ACTA
taskforce teams or people in your party working against ACTA for
feedback before Sunday evening (18:00):

We are also working on setting up a mail list for people working
against ACTA so please do not hesitate to let us know who should be
added to this list. You can also reach us on IRC
(irc.piratpartiet.se #ppi-acta).

Please provide feedback before Sunday evening (18:00).

Currently PPI has a section of the wiki dedicated to ACTA, the main page can be found here: http://int.piratenpartei.de/ACTA_Taskforce

There is also a mailing list which is listed on that page and (now) the contact page. If you are interested in helping out or have suggestions, please send an email to it.

What can one do?

Okay, I read this only now. What I wonder is: Is there a central place where international Pirates can organise campaigns against ACTA? Like centralised info on the meetings, the hearings in parliaments, the leaked documents, but also on demos around the world, info material and argumentational help (like short brochures) to spread on the streets etc?

I think the fight against ACTA is not only the right thing to do but could mobilise many people and be for the international pirates like the pirate bay trials for Swedish pirates or the Zensursula debate for German Pirates.

Maybe I am just to stpid to find the site I search, so if, please redirect me.
