PP of Romania will hopefully participate in the upcoming elections. In 2011 there will be elections for local councils, in which we intend to run in at least 5 major cities with a objective of 5 council members, mostly to test our organisation capabilities. We see this only as a test for the general elections of 2012, where we will face the electoral margin of 5% required to accede in the Parliament. We are optimistic and see ourselves at 6% in the next general elections, and we also hope to have at least 1 MEP in the next European Elections.

This week's Pirate Party of the Week is the Pirate Party of Luxembourg.

Will the Pirate Party of Luxembourg participate in any upcoming elections? Please tell us about your expectations for the next elections you will participate in.

Our plan is to participate in the next national and European elections in 2014. We might be able to participate in local elections earlier, but it's not our ultimate goal.

There is no fixed threshold in Luxembourg (like in Germany f.ex. with the 5% rule), but we would need about 3% to enter national parliament (based on previous elections). The threshold for European elections would be even higher with approx. 16-18% for one seat.

This week's Pirate Party of the Week is the Pirate Party of Italy.

Will the Pirate Party of Italy participate in any upcoming elections? Please tell us about your expectations for the next elections you will participate in.

At the present there's no chance to participate national elections. The electoral law in force is such that candidates are nominated by secretaries / head of parties (ie: 6-7 people choose the 800 deputies and senators); and the signatures required to make an autonomous candidate to participate are likely to discourage anyone who hasn't some thousands of supporters organized in a national organization.

This week's Pirate Party of the Week is the Pirate Party of Germany.

Will the Pirate Party of Germany participate in any upcoming elections? Please tell us about your expectations for the next elections you will participate in.

Germany is having a strong federative structure and it is said that it has more elections than any other country. This means that there are 7 to 8 elections on average in a given year. Plenty of opportunities for us to participate and build up experience. After a tremendous success with 2 % of the votes in the federal elections in 2009 the next elections for the German Pirate Party are on the state level. In March 2011 there will be the elections in the states of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saxony-Anhalt. During the year there will be three more states to vote and several local elections.

This week's Pirate Party of the Week is the Pirate Party of Ireland.

Will the Pirate Party of Ireland participate in any upcoming elections? Please tell us about your expectations for the next elections you will participate in.

As with most of the parties throughout the Pirate Movement we would hope to be in a position to field candidates in our next general election in 2012. There are of course many calls for an early general election due to the severity of the recession and the governments willingness to pile on a ridiculous amount of debt all to bail out banks that now have no visible inclination to start lending again.

This week's Pirate Party of the Week is the Pirate Party of Finland.

Will the Pirate Party of Finland participate in any upcoming elections? Please tell us about your expectations for the next elections you will participate in.

The Pirate Party of Finland will participate in parliamentary elections in April 2011. This will be our first major election, since we have previously only participated in municipal elections in one small municipality. Our goal is to get a few seats in the national parliament with 200 representatives. There's no formal threshold so far, but new parties generally need about one percent of the vote in order to succeed.
