Pirate Parties International (abbreviated PPI) is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that exists to help establish, to support and promote, and to maintain communication and co-operation between pirate parties around the world. It was founded in 2006 and was declared a 'Feitelijke vereniging' (or unincorporated association) under Belgian law in October 2009.
PPI is managed by a Coreteam that meets weekly to discuss the internal running of the organisation and interacts with individual pirate parties and other organisations. Once official statutes have been established, the team will be elected by representatives of the member parties; the current team is elected internally. PPI also supports specific task forces such as the current ACTA taskforce. PPI operates a mailing list. The list can be joined, or publicly viewed here.
The Coreteam can be contacted by mail (coreteam (at) pp-international.net) or on though IRC; #ppi-coreteam on PirateNet ( irc.piratpartiet.se / irc.piraattipuolue.fi ).
